Hannah Mettler is a dance artist, educator and creative living in the greater Houston area. Originally from New Jersey, her pre-professional training is rooted in Vaganova method ballet and rhythm tap dance, with her current teaching repertoire including ballet, tap, modern, contemporary and jazz dance.
In 2017 she moved to Houston, TX to join Ad Deum 2 directed by Shizu Yasuda before being promoted to Ad Deum Dance Company directed by Randall Flinn. While in Ad Deum, she performed modern dance works choreographed by Randall Flinn, Steve Rooks, Durell Comedy, Jennifer Mabus, Caleb Mitchell, Gabriel Speiller, Shizu Yasuda, and Alicia Graf-Mack.
In addition to performing, Hannah has a passion for teaching and deeply values the training of the next generation of dancers, prompting her to get involved with nonprofits to teach both in and out of the traditional studio space. Some of her non-profit affiliations have brought her to teach in other countries and prison systems, with the intention of making dance and creativity more accessible to a variety of populations. Hannah has been on faculty for three years at Bailando International Dance Festival in Corpus Christi, TX, and also is an active arts patron of the Houston dance community.
Currently, Hannah is pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX where she is both working and studying in the Dance Department. She is also the Creative Director for Heart of Dance, a non-profit dance organization in Houston, TX. Ms. Mettler believes dance is so much more than a hobby, but a deeply fulfilling art form that can unlock creativity that can change the world. .
